The Conexant Systems, Inc. is an American manufacturer of integrated circuits (ICs) and 1999 of the aerospace and defense manufacturer in the semiconductor division "Rockwell Semiconductor Systems" Rockwell International emerged. The company was listed on the Nasdaq Composite .
Its headquarters are in Irvine , California , and there are also several development departments in the USA, the People's Republic of China and India .
history
On February 28, 2013 Conexant Systems to file for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code after it in April 2011 for 282.2 million US dollars from private equity firm Golden Gate Capital had been taken over and the beginning of 2013, a restructuring plan that among other things the resale of Company to investor George Soros was established. Business operations are to be continued for the time being, as are the subsidiaries that were not affected by this filing for insolvency. As part of the restructuring process, the headquarters were moved from Newport Beach to Irvine and the product portfolio was thinned out.
On July 26, 2017, Synaptics announced the successful acquisition of Conexant.
Products
Conexant primarily develops and produces highly integrated circuits, so - called application - specific integrated circuits (ASICs), from the field of digital image processing , video compression ( MPEG ), for modems and manufactures ICs for TV cards .
