Rocky Glen State Park is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the Newtown community on the Pootatuck River .

geography

The park stretches from south to north along the west bank of the Pootatuck River, which has two small dams in the area and thus displays romantic waterfalls. The park is mainly shaped by the slopes of Walnut Hill . There used to be a gold mine in the area, but the shaft has now been filled, and a rubber factory.

Freetime activities

The park's most popular attraction is the cascades, to which hiking trails lead. Most notably, this is Al's Trail , a hiking trail through Newtown.
