River Highlands State Park is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the area of the community of Cromwell on the west bank of the Connecticut River .
geography
The park is located on a bank of the Connecticut River. The shore rises very quickly from 5 m to 46 m (150 ft) above sea level . A small, nameless stream, which is fed by a pond in the TPC River Highlands Golf Club , meanders through the plateau and then cascades down about 100 m in a blade to the Connecticut River. A few hundred meters south is the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge .
free time activities
The park offers hiking opportunities and scenic views over the river. It is also one of four state parks where boaters can find easy camping opportunities.
