Rodney Lee Achter (born February 14, 1961 in Oregon , Ohio ) is an American football coach and former American football and Canadian football player.

Player career

college

Eighth played college football at the University of Toledo for the Toledo Rockets from 1979 to 1982 .

NFL

Eighth was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the ninth round of the 1983 NFL Draft . On August 18, 1983, Achter was released from the Vikings. He then had jobs with the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals , but was never able to assert himself.

CFL

In the 1984 season, played eighth for the Ottawa Rogh Riders in the Canadian Football League

Coaching career

His coaching career began eight in 1985 at Cardinal Stritch High School, later moved to Clay High School. Eighth has worked at Sylvania Northview High School since 1990, currently as Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Line trainer .
