Midfielder Carreras played at club level at least in 1935 and 1937 for Central in the Primera División . His club occupied eighth and sixth place in the table in these two seasons.

National team

Carreras was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed six international matches between July 18, 1935 and October 10, 1937. He did not score an international goal. He was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 1937 South American Championship . He also took part with Uruguay in 1935 at the Copa Hector Gomez and the Copa Juan Mignaburu and in 1937 at the Copa Lipton .
