history

Eberhard Fuchs founded the company “Robert Fuchs Spielwaren” named after his father in 1962 at the age of 18. In the first few years, Fuchs supplied smaller shops and showmen. When the self-service markets found their way into Germany at the end of the 1960s, the entrepreneur supplied self-service chains such as Rewe, Grosso, Toom and Tengelmann with toys that were bought in Europe and the Far East.

After building up an extensive trading network, Fuchs founded his first own toy store "ROFU Kinderland" in Birkenfeld in 1984. Own imports and branded toys were offered in a warehouse. Eberhard Fuchs decided to open further branches in Rhineland-Palatinate and the neighboring Saarland.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the company headquarters was relocated from Birkenfeld to the neighboring Hoppstädten-Weiersbach in the immediate vicinity of the motorway and expanded over the years. In 2012, over 24,000 m² of storage space and 2,000 m² of office space were available in Hoppstädten.

Another logistics center with over 26,000 m² is located in Ramstein-Miesenbach, directly on the A 62, here mainly large parts and imported articles from the Far East are handled.

At the Hoppstädten-Weiersbach location, in addition to the storage areas, the purchasing department, data center, marketing department and the vehicle fleet with 40 company-owned trucks are located - all branches are supplied centrally from here.

Rofu Kinderland is one of the largest toy retailers in Germany with over 90 branches in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Saarland and North Rhine-Westphalia. Over 2200 people work in the company. In addition to the stationary shops, ROFU has been operating the toy online trade mifus.de since 2010 .
