The Rogue Steady Orchestra is a ska band from Göttingen founded in 2001 .
Band history
In 2001, members of the ska-punk formations Ex-Maquina and Spealer, which had recently split up, as well as Turbo-dog GTI and Katzenstreik met in Göttingen to start a new ska project. The project, initially only planned for a year, became a permanent band after a first self-produced album and a few live concerts. The first recordings for the second record began in 2004 and were completed in 2005. The resulting album Fehlstaat was released on the Göttingen label "Fire and Flames". After several tours through Germany as well as trips to France, Austria and Switzerland, the band went back to the studio at the end of 2007 to record their third longplayer, One Third Fear, Two Thirds Wut , which has now been released by the Karlsruhe label Twisted Chords and on which the Band is supported on two tracks by Resistance rapper Chaoze One from Mannheim . In September 2011, Twisted Chords released their fourth album, Liveticker zum Aufstand .
music
Musically, the currently nine-member ensemble moves from Ska to punk, reggae and swing. The almost entirely German-language texts deal critically with topics such as neo-fascism, war, capitalism, sexism, the police and surveillance state and other related topics.
