He is also a member of the Sri Lankan national soccer team and was part of the runner-up selection in his home country at the 2006 AFC Challenge Cup . He was also a member of the Sri Lankan squad at the two tournaments in 2008 and 2010. At the AFC Challenge Cup in 2008 and at the AFC Challenge Cup in 2010 , he wore the number 4 on his back. In the years 2006 to 2011, he completed a total of 32 international matches, in which he scored three times in the opposing goal.
