Rohrbach (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the Middle Ages, the Lords of Rohrbach were a local noble family in the village of Rohrbach on the plateau of the southern Franconian Alb near Rennertshofen . They all came from ministerials of the Bishop of Eichstätt . Their aristocratic residence was located near today's Catholic parish church of St. Catherine and can only be reconstructed from the local plan.
In the 13th century, the aristocratic families Kästlin and Penko , probably descendants of Wichmann von Rohrbach , appeared in Rohrbach documents . The last offspring, which died out in 1350, was founded by Ulrich von Trugenhofen , who had married Margaret Kästlin, the daughter of Wichmann Kästlin.
