Roland Kpotsra

Roland Yao Kpotsra (born February 20, 1947 in Lomé ) is a Togolese politician and diplomat. Kpotsra is currently his country's ambassador to the United Nations ; from December 2002 to July 2003 he was Togo's Foreign Minister.

Life

Kpotsra worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1974. From September 1976 to February 1979 he was secretary of the Togolese Embassy to the United Nations, then he served there as a counselor to April 1980, as charge d'affaires from April to August 1980. From September 1980 to May 1982 he was the first Counselor of the Togolese Embassy in Brazil .

In the Togolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kpotsra was director of the department for contractual and legal affairs from July 23, 1982 to January 5, 1988 and director of administrative and personnel management of the ministry from October 9, 1987 to August 1990. From September 1990 to June In 1991 he was briefly agent of the representation in Zimbabwe.

Then Kpotsra was from September 1992 to March 23, 1993 Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from March 1993 to 1996 Secretary General of the Togolese Foreign Ministry. On December 11, 1996, Kpotsra was appointed Togo's representative to the United Nations for the first time and remained this until December 2002.

With the formation of a government following the Togolese parliamentary elections in 2002 , he became Togolese Foreign Minister on December 3, 2003 when the cabinet was reshuffled, he switched to the position of Minister for the Promotion of Democracy and the Rule of Law, which he held until June 20, 2005 held. On October 1, 2007 he was again appointed Ambassador of Togo to the United Nations.
