Roland Lorenz

Roland Lorenz is a German data protection expert.

Lorenz worked as an official in the tax administration. In April 2004 he was proposed by the head of the state chancellery to be the Saarland commissioner for data protection and was unanimously elected by the Saarland parliament. Until the end of 2004, Lorenz was chairman of the conference of data protection officers of the federal and state governments . In November 2006 he also became the State Commissioner for Freedom of Information. In 2010 the state government did not propose him for a second term.

Honors

In 2010 Lorenz received the Media Prize Golden Duck from the Saar State Press Conference .
