Rolf Gestefeld

Rolf Gestefeld (* 1949 ) is a former German administrative judge . From 2000 to 2014 he was President of the Hamburg Higher Administrative Court .

Life

Gestefeld passed the First State Examination in Hanover in 1976, after completing his doctorate in 1977, he passed the major state examination in Hamburg in 1978, both exams with the grade "Good". Gestefeld entered the higher judicial service of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in 1978 . After a brief assignment at the Hamburg Regional Court and a secondment to the examination office of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court , he moved to the Administrative Court in 1981 and from there to the Higher Administrative Court in 1988. In 1993 he became head of department in the judicial authority and in 1996 he took over the management of the penitentiary office before returning to the Hamburg Higher Administrative Court as President in September 2000.
