Rolf Jördens

Rolf Jördens (born November 30, 1946 in Celle ) is a German agricultural scientist .

Career

Jördens studied agricultural sciences at the University of Hohenheim and became a member of the Corps Germania Hohenheim . In 1976 he was awarded a Dr. agr. PhD . A research stay took him to the Institut National Agronomique in Paris for two years . He took on various tasks in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and from May 1976 to July 1997 in the Federal Chancellery .

From July 1997 to June 2000 he was President of the Bundessortenamt in Hanover and from July 2000 to December 2010 Deputy Secretary General of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV).
