Rolf W. Kunz

Rolf W. Kunz (* 1949 ) is a Swiss composer. He produces light classical music for piano and orchestra.

Life

Kunz grew up in Uster, in the canton of Zurich. He started taking piano lessons at the age of 10, and as a 17-year-old he took care of music more and more seriously. When he was 21 years old, he wanted to deepen his piano and music theory training and learned harmony from his uncle, Erwin Ernst Kunz , professional musician, former Zurich Tonhalle orchestra musician, composer and music theorist.

From 1988, however, he began to put his own piano melodies on paper. Since 1990 several albums with light music for piano and professional orchestra have been made.

Albums

The first two instrumental productions ( Piano Emotions , Vol. 1 and Piano Sky Dreams , Vol. 2) were orchestrated by Erwin Ernst Kunz, Zurich, and the musicians were recruited from members of the Zurich Opera House (today: Philharmonia Zurich) and Musicians of the then DRS Big Band, Zurich / Switzerland.

The third, fourth and seventh productions ( Piano for Lovers , Vol. 3, Piano Diamonds , Vol. 4 and Piano Soul Emotions Vol. 7) were orchestrated by the German professional musician Claus-Dieter Zimmer , Australia. The albums number five and six ( Piano for Dancers , Vol. 5 and Piano Romance , Vol. 6) are mixtures of different titles from the first 4 music productions.

All of Rolf W. Kunz's music albums are timeless light music, from dreamy melodies also for lovers and people who are looking for peace, sometimes also adorned with classy dances, including boogie-woogie, swing, tango, bossa Nova, Rhumba.

The melodies that Rolf W. Kunz writes for the compositions are played on the piano in Alex Eugster's music studio .

The latest album ( Piano Soul Emotions Vol. 7) was completed in 2012. Since 2017, Rolf W. Kunz has been working with Alex Eugster and Claus-Dieter Zimmer again for the production of his 8th album.

Music video

In November 2018 Rolf W. Kunz published his first music video. It is about a romantic love story written by him on the ice parquet with the title: "LOVE STORY ON ICE", which is underlined by his composition of 3 previously written music tracks.
