As Roligans (of Danish rolig - "quiet") are referred to in Denmark those especially in the context of Danish national football team games through peaceful cheering before and during a soccer game noticed. The behavior of roligans is the opposite of that of hooligans .

This movement has its origins in the successful time of the Danish national team in the 1980s . In 1984 the International Committee for Fair Play awarded Danish football fans the Fair Play Diploma in recognition of their behavior during the 1984 European Championship . In 1986, De danske roligans was founded as a fan club for the Danish national football team.

The word Roligan is a play on words between hooligan and rolig (Danish for "calm").
