Rolling Thunder Bern is a Swiss Powerchair Hockey (formerly electric wheelchair hockey; short: E-Hockey) team from Bern . The Rolling Thunder have been playing with one team in National League A and one team in National League B since the league was founded in 2013 .

history

Rolling Thunder Bern was founded in 2004 as a section of the Wheelchair Club Bern (RSCB) in the Rossfeld Foundation in Bern. In 2005 the team took part in the Swiss Cup, the Swiss championship at the time, for the first time. With a 5th place out of 9 participants, the team made a very good debut. The first tournaments followed, which also ended victoriously. In 2008, the Bernese beat their strong rivals from Zurich, the Iron Cats , 3-1 in the Swiss Cup, making them Swiss champions for the first time. The team also won this title in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. Notable international successes followed at tournaments in Eindhoven , Prague , Milan and Zurich. For the 2013/14 season the national league A and B was introduced and the first season was finished in 2nd place behind the Iron Cats. In 2015 and 2016 , the Rolling Thunder finally won the first two official Swiss championship titles. The second team currently plays in the national league B. The Bernese repeatedly provide players for the Swiss national power chair hockey team , which regularly takes part in world and European championships.
