Roman Jan Lentner (born December 15, 1937 in Chropaczów ) is a former Polish football player .

life and career

Lentner was born in 1937 in Chropaczów, Upper Silesia , now a district of Świętochłowice . He started playing football at Czarni Chropaczów in 1947 . In the meantime he played at LZS Karlino and returned to Czarni in 1956.

In the same year, the striker was signed by the Polish first division club Górnik Zabrze from the neighboring town of Zabrze . Lentner was to stay with his new club until 1969. In the 1960s, Górnik experienced his most successful times and dominated Polish football. With the team Lentner won the Polish championship eight times and the Polish Cup three times. From 1957 to 1966 he was also a member of the Polish national team , for which he appeared 32 times and scored seven goals, including at the 1960 Summer Olympics .

In 1969 Lentner moved to GKS Wesoła and let his career end there. In 1970 he ended his career as an active player.

He has been awarded the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland . In 1988 Lentner moved to Germany and now lives in Berlin .
