Romilda , of which there are the variants Romilde and Rumilde, is a female given name.

The name is made up of two old high German words: "hruom", which stands for fame or honor, and "hiltja", which means fight. Romilda means something to be said for a laudable fighter . Romilda stands for heroine ( eroina ) in Italian and is derived from the Lombard Romphilde. Name day in Italy is celebrated on November 1st.
