Romiosini Publishing House

The Romiosini publishing was a Cologne publisher of contemporary Greek literature . Edition Romiosini , which is part of the Center for Modern Greece at the Free University of Berlin , has been reissuing the editorial program of Romiosini Verlag since 2014 .

The publishing house was founded in 1982 when a group of friends of Greece formed around Hans Eideneier and Niki Eideneier , who translated Greek literature into German out of personal enthusiasm.

Romiosini ( Greek : Ρωμιοσύνη) denotes Greek culture, more precisely the Greek, Orthodox culture since the establishment of the Eastern Roman Empire under Byzantine rule, and as a term includes not only the Greeks in today's mother country, but also the almost as many Greeks who live all over the world World living in diaspora . In particular, before the nationalization of the political world order in the wake of the French Revolution understood all Orthodox Christians as Rhomäer or Romii.

The publishing program now contains almost 200 titles from modern Greek literature in German translation and on Greek culture.
