Romiosini Publishing House

The Romiosini publishing was a Cologne publisher of contemporary Greek literature . Edition Romiosini , which is part of the Center for Modern Greece at the Free University of Berlin , has been reissuing the editorial program of Romiosini Verlag since 2014 .

The publishing house was founded in 1982 when a group of friends of Greece formed around Hans Eideneier and Niki Eideneier , who translated Greek literature into German out of personal enthusiasm.

Romiosini ( Greek : Ρωμιοσύνη) denotes Greek culture, more precisely the Greek, Orthodox culture since the establishment of the Eastern Roman Empire under Byzantine rule, and as a term includes not only the Greeks in today's mother country, but also the almost as many Greeks who live all over the world World living in diaspora . The publishing program now contains almost 200 titles from modern Greek literature in German translation and on Greek culture.
