Ronney Pettersson

Ronney Pettersson (born April 26, 1940 ) is a former Swedish football goalkeeper .

career

Pettersson made his debut in 1958 for Djurgårdens IF in Fotbollsallsvenskan , but could not prevail and came into the second team. It was not until 1966 that he was able to establish himself in goal and became Swedish champions with the club. He was then called up for the first time in the Swedish national team, in which he completed 17 international matches by 1969. Then he was ousted by the up-and-coming Ronnie Hellström and was only a substitute at the 1970 World Cup . After the end of the 1970 season, he ended his active career after playing 112 first division games.
