Ross Allen Sadlier

Ross Allen Sadlier (born January 24, 1955 ) is an Australian herpetologist . He is curator (collection manager) for herpetology at the Australian Museum in Sydney .

Life

Sadlier was from 1980 Technical Officer in the Herpetology Department of the Australian Museum and from 1996 Collection Manager. In 1986 he received a bachelor's degree from Macquarie University and worked at the University of California, Berkeley.

He has been to field studies in Northern Australia, New South Wales and on islands of the Southwest Pacific and more recently mainly in the rainforests of Eastern Australia and New Caledonia , where he also deals with nature conservation issues.

He published the first descriptions of 69 reptile species, partly in collaboration with Aaron M. Bauer .

Dedication names

The Skinkart Pygmaeascincus sadlieri and the subspecies Candoia paulsoni sadlieri are named after Sadlier .
