Ross William Ford (born April 23, 1984 in Edinburgh ) is a no longer active Scottish rugby union player who was used on the position of the hooker . He was part of the Scottish national team and active for Edinburgh rugby .
Ford was the captain of the U16 national team and part of the Scottish selection at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in rugby 7 . He also played for the U18, U19 and U21 national teams. In 2003 he was hired by the Border Reivers . He made his debut for the men's national team in 2004 against Australia . Two years later, after nine appearances as a substitute, he was used for the first time in the starting lineup of Scotland.
Ford took part in the 2007 World Championship . He joined the Glasgow Warriors in the summer of that year after the Border Reivers were disbanded. The Scottish Federation took over the reins of Edinburgh Rugby in October and Ford was signed. In 2009 he was nominated for the British and Irish Lions Tour following the injury of Jerry Flannery . He was substituted on in the final game.
