In addition to a first group of stands for air rifle shooting, duck fishing, decorative items and food, a Ferris wheel and a chain carousel are located on the Neuer Markt . In the Kröpeliner Straße that begins there, the picture continues as far as possible: Stalls offering grilled meat and sausages or lard cakes and crêpes alternate with mulled wine stalls and sales stands for minerals, jewelry and similar goods. On the university square there is an elaborate lighting in the form of a "canopy of lights". Behind the monastery of the Holy Cross you can also find the so-called "Historic Christmas Market". Beyond the Kröpeliner Tor there are further stalls for food, but also the so-called "fairy tale forest", an installation of fir trees with a path lined with painted statues from different fairy tales (mostly stories by the Brothers Grimm), which are illuminated and each time a suitable story is played . This part of the Christmas market ends shortly before Schröderplatz.

In Langen Strasse , between Breiten Strasse and the Radisson Blu Hotel, at the level of the “Kröpeliner Tor” tram stop, there is another line of stalls selling mostly food, and there are also some stalls for music CDs and clothing to find.

The third section of the event takes place in the “Fischerbastion” car park . On the fisherman's bastion there is the Christmas hype next to well-known fair booths, for example. There are also children's rides, roller coasters and modern rides such as bumper cars or the Break Dancer, for example lottery booths, shooting galleries and duck fishing. Every year there are more rides such as B. a 60 meter high free fall tower (Power Tower) or a 45 meter high giant swing (Konga). With 250 stalls, the Rostock Christmas market is one of the largest in Germany.
