Jens Jensen (* 1964 in Hohen Neuendorf ) is a German musician, composer, lyricist and actor. He plays guitar , dobro , mandolin and bass .

biography

Since 1973 he received mandolin, bass and guitar lessons. Just three years later he made his first stage appearance. Jens Jensen began his musical career with the Modern Soul Band , with which he played from 1983 to 1986. In the same year he switched to the " Angelika Weiz Band", which he left in 1989. He then took a creative break in the USA and entered a. street musician in New Orleans. This inspiration and the encounter with the bands The Meters and "The Subdudes" had a lasting influence on him. Back in Germany, Jensen joined the band Pankow in 1990 as a musician, songwriter and lyricist. In 1996 he was replaced by the returning André Herzberg . He then worked as a studio slide guitarist a . a. for Arnold Fritzsch .

Jensen composed music for the play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind and played the role of "Masked Lord". Various acting engagements followed. a. at the Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam, the Theater Eisleben, the Mecklenburg State Theater Schwerin and the Berlin Theater an der Parkaue .

From 2003 he toured with the pianist and singer Nicolette Richter.

Jensen has been giving private guitar and dobro lessons for several years.
