The Red Castle in Zurich is a residential and commercial building with an unusual, castle-like architecture .

The Red Palace was built between 1891 and 1893 by the architect Heinrich Ernst on behalf of the Zurich real estate company . The building is on General-Guisan-Quai, on the left bank of Lake Zurich between Beethovenstrasse and Stockerstrasse. Immediately next to it is the congress house . The area was filled in according to plans by city engineer Arnold Bürkli and prepared as a quay.

In 1943, the Zurich National Councilor David Farbstein acquired the castle and sold it in 1949. Swiss Life then took over the building in 1950 and is still the owner today. The "castle" has been a cantonal monument since 1976 .
