The so-called "Rother Hof", a former courthouse.

The Rother-Hof , a former court and administration building, now a local museum , is located in Pottendorf in Lower Austria at Hauptstraße 25.

The court building was built in the 15th century under the Lords of Zinzendorf . In 1642 the court passed into the possession of Jakob Rauch von Rauchberg, in 1665 to Count Franz Nádasdy . After Nádasdy was executed in the course of the magnate conspiracy against the emperor, the property became an imperial fief again and in 1695 was an inn. The property went to the Counts of Starhemberg in 1702 . From 1803 to 1991 the building was owned by Count Esterházy von Galantha and became the residence of the manorial administrators. In the possession of the municipality of Pottendorf since 1991, the building has been used as a local museum since 1997.

The name of the courtyard resulted from the baroque coloring of the facade with red window frames and x-shaped fields. The mighty elongated two-storey four-wing building around a rectangular courtyard was rebuilt and expanded several times. The street wing has a gate tower originally placed in the middle. In the northeast wing there were stables, feed rooms and wagon sheds. In the northwest wing, former bulk floors and a prison wing .

There are heraldic stones that were transferred here from the castle chapel .
