Guild of the redsmiths in Nuremberg

Only in Nuremberg was there a guild of redsmiths with a strict guild order that included a ban on hiking . They were only allowed to practice their craft outside of Nuremberg with the approval of the council, in order to secure Nuremberg's excellent position in brass production and processing. The guild rules also regulate training with 4 years of apprenticeship and 6 years of journeyman. For the master’s examination, an openwork key ring, a table lamp and a masterpiece of your choice had to be made. The Nuremberg redsmiths had marks such as the gold and silversmiths.
