Architecture and history
The three-storey building was built in 1894 by the building contractor H. Hupe , who also owned the house. The building is designed in the neo-renaissance style. While the ground floor facade is rusticated , the eight-axis facade of the upper floors is characterized by yellow brick surfaces, which are criss-crossed by double horizontal layers of red bricks. The window openings on the first floor are spanned by segmental arches. The rather simple-looking building is covered by a gable roof . There are two shops on the ground floor.
In the local register of monuments , the residential and commercial building is recorded as a monument under registration number 094 76832 .
As part of the ensemble around the Sankt-Marien-Kirche, the building is considered significant in terms of urban development. In terms of the history of the district, it is important as the historical building fabric of Sudenburg.
