Routine - Telereha is an online training platform for people with phantom pain as a result of an amputation in the leg area. The training was developed by the Düsseldorf software developers Kaasa health develops and is the result of the PACT trial ( Pa tient C Entered T elerehabilitation). In a follow-up study (GAPP = G amification A gainst P hantom P ain) the training method to the aid of virtual reality to be improved and expanded by a module for people with an amputation in the arm. The study is funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the EU and carried out in cooperation with several clinics and universities.

concept

Routine Telereha is an alternative therapy concept and is intended to support the long-term self-management of the patient after completion of rehabilitation and to help reduce phantom pain and painkillers . With the regular use of mirror therapy on a tablet PC, which films and mirrors the movements of the intact leg, pain reduction is possible within four weeks. Elements of augmented reality are used to make integration into everyday life as real as possible for the patient. The course of the pain is documented by regularly querying the duration, type and intensity of pain and the time at which the pain occurred and documenting it in a pain diary. The training platform also includes lateralization training , through which the perception of both halves of the body is trained. A chat function gives patients the opportunity to contact their personal therapist and to define an individual training plan. Background information also provides information about phantom pain , appropriate residual limb care or opportunities for leisure activities and contact with self-help groups. The use of a tablet PC allows the patient the greatest possible mobility, so that the time and place of the training can be determined individually.

commitment

The training platform is used for supportive therapy in people with phantom pain as a result of an amputation . In some cases, the assumption of costs for the telerehabilitative measure can be claimed from the patient's professional association after an accident at work.
