The Roux Island ( French Île Charles-Roux ) is an island off the Loubet coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located about 800 m north of the Arrowsmith Peninsula at the western entrance to Lallemand Fjord .
It was discovered during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Charcot , who named it after the French entrepreneur and politician Jules Charles-Roux (1841-1918).
