The Fendt 1000 Vario series is currently the most powerful tractor series from Fendt . The series was presented for the first time on July 7, 2014 at a press conference at Neuschwanstein Castle . It has been available for order since the fourth quarter of 2015; delivery began in September 2016.
model series
The 1000 Vario series supplements the Fendt product range upwards and is located above the 900 Vario series. The Fendt 1000 Vario is available in four models from 291 to 380 kW (396 to 517 hp ).
All models in the series have the so-called "VarioDrive drive train". This was integrated into the rear axle module TA400 and is the latest version of the continuously variable Vario transmission. The front axle is driven by its own hydraulic motor independently of the rear axle . The mechanical all-wheel clutch only closes when one of the axles slips.
The tractor can be equipped with tires up to 2.35 meters in diameter. With an empty weight of 14 tonnes and powered by a 6-cylinder MAN engine with a displacement of 12.4 liters, the large tractor reaches a maximum speed of up to 60 km / h. It also has the newly developed x5-S cabin and two independent axial piston pumps .
The design of the tractor was honored with the Red Dot Design Award and the IF Design Award .
In the USA the tractor is available under the Challenger brand . The Challenger model is also built in Marktoberdorf and is the first tractor built in the plant that is not built under the Fendt brand.
In 2016, 180 tractors of the series were built. 60 of them as Challenger for the US market. The 1,000 series tractor was produced on December 20, 2017, at which time a total of 310 tractors from the series were sold as Challenger.
