Rover (Zambia) Ltd. was an automobile manufacturer based in Ndola ( Zambia ).

history

Production presumably began in the 1950s or 1960s.

At the beginning of the 1980s, the plant had a capacity of 2,400 vehicles per year. In 1992 the company belonged to the British Lonrho Group.

In 2008, production had been stopped for some time. The failure of Rover (Zambia), Livingstone Motor Assemblers and other companies in the industry is believed to be the lifting of import restrictions at the beginning of the 1990s.

Models

The Toyota Hilux was assembled from 1983 .

In 1992 Rover (Zambia) assembled Mitsubishi CKD kits for Harunoucbi Manµfacturing and Distribution Co. Ltd. Other brands were Volkswagen , Audi , Mitsubishi and Land Rover .
