At the end of 2014, the two anchor shareholders R.- M. Frey and T. Schmidheiny held 80% of the shares. This includes a small group of selected entrepreneurs and family offices from the network of main investors.

The cleanup of legacy issues from previous business activities and the sale of loss-making areas such as the airlines Fastjet and Fly540 have already been largely carried out. According to an estimate by the Handelszeitung, shareholders have so far injected around CHF 250 million more to come to terms with the past. The loss of Lonrho Ltd. was $ 367 million in 2013. For 2014 the losses could be reduced to 20.8 million USD. Operating profit was $ 9.5 million in 2014, so a turnaround was in sight. The 2014 annual report is entitled Focused on Africa's Growth . Economic growth in those African countries in which Lonrho operates slowed down in 2015, so that the company continues to struggle with problems. The results for the 2015 financial year were not encouraging. On sales of $ 205 million, there was a loss of $ 32 million. In 2015, another $ 141 million capital increase was carried out to bolster the balance sheet. In fiscal 2018, sales of $ 250 million resulted in a loss of $ 27 million. In order to expand the Food Supply Chain Management division, the Brands Consumer Group was taken over and a stake in the Big Bottling Company in Nigeria was acquired.
