Rowley Iceland is an island in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago- in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut .
It is in the north of the Foxe Basin . Their land area is 1090 km². The island has a maximum extent in north-south direction of 69 km and a width of 22 km. The highest elevation reaches 137 m.
The island is uninhabited. Rowley Island has an unmanned Distant Early Warning Line facility called FOX-1 at ( 69 ° 4 ′ 1 ″ N , 79 ° 3 ′ 54 ″ W ), as well as an automated weather station.
The island was named after the polar explorer Graham Westbrook Rowley .
