Renaming the designated formerly as "Australian Crane" " Brolga " goes back to the RAOU

BirdLife Australia until 2012 Birds Australia and by 1996 Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union called (RAOU), is a corporation founded in 1901 Australian organization of ornithologists . Their goal is to research and preserve the birds native to Australia. This makes it the oldest institution in Australia that has set itself the goal of protecting birds.

The organization has also worked to ensure that some bird species are given names that go back to their naming by the Aborigines . The bird, known as the “Australian crane” in 1865, is now called the Brolga crane .
