Rozz Williams

Rozz Williams (actually Roger Alan Painter ; born November 6, 1963 in Pomona , California , † April 1, 1998 in Los Angeles by suicide ) was an American singer, songwriter and artist.

Williams grew up with his three older siblings (two brothers and one sister) in a strict family that belonged to the Southern Baptist Convention . In his teenage years, unlike his siblings, he was drawn to the punk rock music scene, which shaped his early musical works.

In 1979 he founded the death rock band Christian Death . Other projects were Premature Ejaculation from 1981 together with his friend Ron Athey , Daukus Karota, Shadow Project and Heltir. He did not leave a suicide note when he committed suicide.
