Lake Rušon ( Latvian : Rušona ezers or Rušons ) is a large lake in eastern Latvia not far from the city of Aglona .
The glacial lake has a strongly indented coastline with many peninsulas and bulges. In the north the banks are forested. The 34 islands on the lake cover a total area of 62.8 hectares. Until 1950, the natural outflow into the Tartaka was closed in order to operate a hydroelectric power station on an artificial canal.
There are 11 species of fish in the lake.
