Rudbar ( Persian رودبار[ ɾudbɑɾ ]) is a city in northern Iran . It is centrally located in the district of the same administrative district of the province of Gilan . Rudbar has 11,454 inhabitants, spread over 3,303 families (as of 2006). Rudbar means bank of the river . The city is close to the Sefid Rud river . Because of the many olive gardens near the city, it is also called Rudbar-e-Seytun ( Seytun = olive).
