In 1980 Fischer graduated from the Waiblingen Business School. Then he completed a dual university course with a degree in business administration (BA) in Stuttgart. Since 1985 he has been an artist as an autodidact.

In 1987, in addition to his professional activity as a manager in a large insurance company, he began to deal with painting. He has been developing conceptual art since the 1990s: photographs, objects, paintings, installations, film experiments and musical compositions. His work has been presented and performed in the USA and Germany.

In 1997, as Spiritus Rector for Allianz Insurance in Berlin, he coined, curatorially advised and implemented the art concept for the Treptowers in Berlin .

In 2016, Fischer founded the Container Art Care e. V. to promote a global art initiative that has set itself the goal of establishing five meta values (human rights, environmental protection, social justice, freedom and global responsibility) as a global norm in all countries.

Fischer is married, has two children and lives in Stahnsdorf near Berlin.

Artistic work

Fischer is interested in the connection between art, society, politics and social action in public space. Ten years after the fall of the Wall, the Chapel of Reconciliation was built on Bernauer Strasse, on the site of the Reconciliation Church, which was blown up in the death strip of the Berlin Wall in 1985. 33 shaped stones of the blown up Church of Reconciliation were each designed by artists (including Rudi Fischer). The Michael Schultz Gallery in Berlin sponsored and supervised this project. All 33 designed stones were shown on the site of the chapel.

In 2007, Rudi Fischer received national attention with his work “Denkmal Disparität”, a large installation in the Helms Museum Hamburg.

His sculpture “Merging Triangles” was exhibited in the Garden of World Religions during the International Garden Show in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg.
