Rudolf Emil Hellmund

Rudolf Emil Hellmund (born February 2, 1879 in Gotha ; † May 16, 1942 ) was a German-American electrical engineer. His father was probably Louis Hellmund.

He studied electrical engineering in Ilmenau and Berlin-Charlottenburg. In 1903 he emigrated to the USA , where he advanced electric traction. He translated the book A Graphical Treatment of the Induction Motor , published in 1906 . In 1929 he was awarded the IEEE Lamme Medal .

From 1933 until his death he was chief engineer of Westinghouse Electr. and Mfg. Co. East Pittsburgh Pa. More than 300 patents had been registered for Hellmund.
