Rudolf Friewald

Rudolf Friewald (born May 8, 1961 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Friewald is the mayor of Michelhausen and was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1990 to 2008 .

Life

After primary school, Friewald attended the lower secondary school and the Francisco-Josephinum in Wieselburg . He then graduated from the agricultural college in Tulln and the agricultural vocational school in Laa an der Thaya and completed his training as an agricultural master. He then worked in Australia for some time and is a professional farmer in Pixendorf .

In 1985 Friewald was appointed District Chamber of Commerce Councilor, and in 1986 he took over the role of Deputy Chairman of the Young People's Party . He then worked from 1990 to 1995 and from 1998 as a councilor in Michelhausen, rose to vice mayor in 2000 and was elected mayor in 2003. In addition, he represented the ÖVP between April 19, 1990 and April 10, 2008 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, although he did not run for the 2008 state election.

Friewald is married and has one daughter. He is district chairman of the Lower Austrian Farmers' Union and ÖVP district party chairman. He also works on a voluntary basis for the volunteer fire brigade in Michelhausen.
