Rudolf Knoll (politician, 1844)

Rudolf Knoll , born as Rudolphus Josephus Knoll , (born March 18, 1844 in Karlsbad ; † April 24, 1914 there ) was a Bohemian politician and administrative officer.

Life

He came from the Karlsbad Knoll family, into which the owner of the mineral water company Heinrich von Mattoni married and who also provided a mayor in Karlsbad with Johann Peter Knoll . His daughter Wilhelmina Theresia Rosa became Mattoni's wife. His father was the Carlsbad gold worker and Imperial and Royal Postmaster Rudolph Knoll. His mother was Anna Riedl and came from Linz, where her father Josef Riedl owned a watchmaker's workshop.

Rudolf Knoll studied at the University of Vienna and the University of Innsbruck. In October 1869 he received his doctorate in law (Dr. jur.). After working temporarily in the law firm of Dr. Alfred Knoll had worked in Karlsbad, he started his own business as a lawyer in Karlsbad. From 1875 he volunteered in the field of local politics after being elected to the city council, of which he was a member for nearly 30 years. From 1880 to 1903 he was district mayor.

In 1901 he was elected by the Eger Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a member of the Bohemian Landtag , which met regularly until 1913. In 1902 he submitted an application to the state parliament regarding the granting of financial support to the municipalities of Altrohlau, Ottowitz, Sittmesgrün, Tüppelsgrün, Spittengrün, Ruppelsgrün, Edersgrün, Lichtenstadt, Langgrün, Gfell and Schlackenwerth in the representative district of Karlsbad, which was discussed in the state parliament.

In Karlsbad he lived in the Rudolfshof . He was a member of the General Anti-Duel League for Austria.
