Rudolf Prinz (politician)
Rudolf Prinz (born January 7, 1947 in Wels ) is an Upper Austrian social democratic politician and was a member of the state parliament and mayor of Weißkirchen an der Traun .
education and profession
After attending primary school in Schleissheim, his family moved to Weißkirchen. Prinz attended secondary school in Marchtrenk and then completed an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic. In 1967 he moved to the ÖBB , where he worked as an interlocking master. In 2003 he retired.
politics
The ÖBB official has been active in local politics since 1973, was deputy mayor in Weißkirchen from 1973 to 1979 and was mayor there from 1979 to 2008. Prince was a member of the state parliament from October 31, 1997 to 2009. Prince was a member of the following committees: Committee for general internal affairs, for transport affairs, for environmental affairs and in the building committee.
As former mayor, he suffered burns on his face on March 7, 2008 when opening a package prepared with acid. In addition to Prinz, politicians of the ÖVP Weißkirchen had received such acid packages. After the attack, the police assumed an act of revenge due to a rededication procedure.
Private
Prinz is married, has one son and lives with his family in Weißkirchen.
