The Rue Saint-Laurent is a street in the neighborhood Porte Saint-Denis and in the neighborhood Porte Saint-Martin of the 10th arrondissement in Paris , close to its train station, the Gare de l'Est , and the Church of Saint-Laurent .

Rue Saint-Laurent begins at number 127 on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin and ends at number 72 on Boulevard de Magenta . In its course it crosses the Boulevard de Strasbourg . The street with a width of 12 meters and a length of 150 meters is bordered on both sides by residential and hotel buildings.
Name origin
The street takes its name from the former Enclos Saint-Laurent through which it runs and from the nearby Saint-Laurent church .
history
The street Rue Neuve-Saint-Laurent was formerly known as Ruelle Saint-Denis.
Before the opening of the Boulevard de Magenta , the street connected the Couvent des Récollets in the Enclos Saint-Lazare , Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis and passed through the Enclos . The decree of December 19, 1855 on the occasion of the opening of the Boulevard de Magenta declared the part between the Boulevard de Strasbourg and the Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis to be in the public interest .
During the French Revolution the Faubourg Saint-Laurent was called “Faubourg-du-Nord”.
