The trunk charge of an atom is understood as the remaining electrical charge when the valence electrons have been completely removed from an atom .
Example: The trunk charge of carbon is 4. If you remove all valence electrons, C 4+ remains .
The electronegativity increases with increasing core charge and decreasing body size.
