It can be translated as kegs. The dimensional chain was

  • 1 Rundlet = 18 Gallons = 18 Pottles = 64 Quarts = 144 Pints

According to the Imperial Standard Gallon, a Rundlet measured wine, brandy or porter

The measure for ale was smaller and so defined

  • 1 Rundlet = 3663 5/9 Parisian cubic inches = 72 ⅗ liters

The old Rundlet in the wine trade deviated from the legal Rundlet and was a little smaller, but it was bigger for beer. Was in North America

  • 1 Rundlet = 3438 Parisian cubic inches = 68 ⅓ liters
