Runestone from Ravnkilde

The Ravnkilde rune stone (also called Ravnkilde 1 - No. DR 134 or NJy 67) stands on a hill in the cemetery in the village of Ravnkilde in the municipality of Rebild in the Nordjylland region in Denmark . It measures 1.32 x 0.92 m and is 0.33 m thick.

The rune stone made of red granite , built between 900 and 1000 AD, bears the inscription: "Asser der (landhirþiR or landhirdhi) land administrator, (Køges) Kugges son carved these runes after Queen Asbod". The name "Asbod" appears on this and a Swedish rune stone. In Sweden there was undoubtedly a mix-up between the B rune and the M rune. "Asmod" is also a common female name in Denmark and Sweden. The term " Dronning " (actually queen) is interpreted here as "mistress". The stone was discovered in 1859 by Horace Marryat (1818–1887) in the entrance of the church and then placed on the hill. The back is covered with bowls that come from the dagger orBronze Age date.
