Rupert Bär (in the original Rupert Bear - Follow The Magic ... ) is a British television series for preschool children that has been broadcast on Super RTL and Junior since 2008 .
background
The character Rupert Bear is based on a cartoon by the children's book illustrator Mary Tourtell, which appeared in the Daily Express in 1920 under the title Little Lost Bear . A year later, the story was published as the book The Adventures of the little lost bear . Was produced Rupert Bear - Follow the Magic in a mixture of animation and 3D - CGI technology by the English Cosgrove Hall animation studio from whose wrought also Danger Mouse or Pocoyo come. The music for the original English episodes was by Paul McCartney . In 2007 Studio Hamburg Synchron GmbH dubbed the 52 episodes in total.
The TV series has been running almost continuously since the beginning of 2008 on Super RTL and on the pay TV channel Sky in the children's program Junior. So far there are 52 episodes that have been repeated several times since it was first broadcast.
Story and characters
Rupert Bär lives in Nusswald with his friends, Ping Pong, Bill, Edward, Raggety, Fred & Frieda. There the friends experience exciting stories and exciting adventures all the time. Values such as friendship and helpfulness are conveyed. But Rupert and his friends also playfully encourage the little audience to deal with nature and their own environment.
- Rupert Bear
- Rupert is 5 years old, loves soccer and is a happy, fun fellow. Always looking for adventure, he's a little stormy but still brave and very generous.
- Ping pong
- Ping Pong is also 5 years old, belongs to Rupert's two best friends and is a real bundle of energy. She is the good soul of the troupe and can do magic. She prefers to take care of her pet, the baby dragon Ming.
- Bill Badger
- Bill is Rupert's other best friend and is already five and a half years old. Bill loves his pocket computer more than anything and is completely fascinated by data and numbers. Therefore he is also the genius of the troupe.
- Edward Proboscis
- At 5 years old, Edward is a bit taller than his friends and also a bit calmer and more cautious. He would rather dream of adventures than actually experience them, and he prefers to sit under a tree and read.
- Miranda
- Miranda is an adorable mermaid and lives in the water in Rocky Bay. There she often sits on her rock. But her favorite pastime is collecting pretty shells and stones.
- Freddy and Frieda
- The two cheeky fox twins live in their den on the edge of the forest. They are inseparable and like to play. Freddy and Frieda are extremely exuberant and exuberant by nature and are therefore sometimes prone to naughtiness.
- Raggety
- Raggty is the youngest of the friends at the age of 4 and therefore treats the others with a lot of respect. And most of all he admires Rupert Bär. Just like ping pong, Raggety has magical abilities because he is an elf.

18 of the 52 episodes have already appeared on DVD and as a radio play CD (part 1 also as a music cassette). In addition to the German soundtrack, the DVD also contains the English soundtrack, which preschoolers can use to playfully learn the first terms of the English language.
