Rupert Sanderson
Rupert Sanderson (* 1966 in Penang , Malaysia ) is a British shoe designer who exclusively designs women's shoes .
Life
Rupert Sanderson studied shoe design at Cordwainers College , London , after initially working in the advertising industry. He gained his first practical experience as a shoe designer with Sergio Rossi and Bruno Magli in Bologna when he went on a trip to Italy to get to know the Italian shoe manufacturer. In 2001, Sanderson started his own shoe brand after returning from Italy.
In 2008 he won the British Fashions Council Award for Accessory Designer of the Year.
In 2008, together with fashion critic Colin McDowell, he launched the Fashion Fringe Shoes award, which is intended to promote young shoe designers.
Rupert Sanderson runs two stores of his own in London and his shoes are represented in over 100 stores in fashion capitals around the world.
