The Ruru Crests are two parallel ridges of 1400 m height on the Antarctic Ross Island . They rise 3.5 km northwest of the summit of Mount Bird .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 2000 after the New Zealand cuckoo owl ( Maori Ruru ).
